Alexa Pearce
Associate University Librarian for Research
Alexa Pearce is the Associate University Librarian for Research. In this role, she provides leadership for the library's disciplinary expertise and engagement with the university's activities to advance research, scholarship, and creative practice. Alexa has a M.A. and B.A. in History from New York University (NYU) and a M.S.L.I.S. (master of science in library & information science) from Long Island University (LIU). Alexa came to U-M in 2013 in the role of Librarian for History and American Culture and has also served at U-M as Head, Social Sciences & Clark Library. Previously, Alexa served as Librarian for Journalism, Media, Culture, and Communication at NYU. Alexa has held teaching appointments in library science programs at the Pratt Institute, Long Island University, and the University of Michigan School of Information.

Alison Nix
Associate Director at MHealthy
Alison Nix works as the Associate Director at MHealthy, where she's dedicated to building a healthier community at the University of Michigan. With a background in health promotion and risk reduction strategies, she oversees a variety of programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall health and wellness of faculty and staff. In her role, Alison is responsible for key areas such as physical activity, nutrition, health-related social needs, wellness and health culture, and alcohol and tobacco use. Through her hands-on leadership, she provides extensive support to program staff, guiding them in achieving short and long-term objectives. She fosters an environment of growth and development within her teams, ensuring they have the resources and encouragement to thrive. Alison is deeply passionate about the work she does at MHealthy and is dedicated to making a positive impact on the health and well-being of the U-M community.

Carolyn Richards, PharmD
Pharmacy Education and Professional Development Coordinator, Surgery Clinical Pharmacist Generalist – Michigan Medicine; Adjunct Clinical Faculty – College of Pharmacy
As the Pharmacy Education and Professional Development Coordinator for Adult Practice, Carolyn helps coordinate on-boarding and training for new staff as well as training current staff on new initiatives, policies, and workflows. She also assesses professional development needs and facilitates professional development opportunities for pharmacists and technicians. In her clinical role as a surgery clinical pharmacist generalist, Carolyn is responsible for providing clinical pharmacy services for patients on various surgical services. Prior to her current roles, she served as the Surgery/Cardiology Co-Lead Pharmacist. Carolyn is a member of the Pharmacy Clinical Practice Committee, the Pharmacy Management Team, and co-chairs the Pharmacy Professional Development Committee. She has a BS in Biology from the University of Richmond, Richmond, VA and a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from the University of Washington, Seattle, WA.

Cely Smart
Chief of Staff and Strategic Advisor to the Dean, U-M School of Public Health
Cely Smart serves as the Chief of Staff and Strategic Advisor to the Dean of the School of Public Health. She has served in this role since July 2021. In her role supporting the dean, she helps to develop, plan, coordinate, support, and lead strategic and special initiatives and projects. Before joining the University of Michigan, she was the Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff to the President at California State University, Sacramento. In Texas, she was an Assistant Registrar at the University of Texas at Austin. She also worked as the Director for Academic Policy and Administration, Special Assistant to the Provost, and as a staff member at the university library during her time at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. She began her work in higher education as an undergraduate student assistant in the university library. Cely holds a B.S. and M.Ed. from Texas Tech University and an Ed.D. from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

Chanda Doxie
Office Services Manager
Chanda Doxie is an adept Office Services Manager with extensive experience in orchestrating the vital administrative functions within the College of Engineering. Chanda's leadership extends to facility management, where she supervises the operations of the administrative building for Engineering. Her managerial expertise ensures that the staff maintains the highest standards of service to foster an efficient and productive working environment. Her passion for community and professional growth is evident through additional roles and contributions across the University. As a Co-Facilitator of the "Voices of the Staff" program, she has been instrumental in promoting career advancement. Her strategic input as an Executive Steering Committee member for ACAP (All Campus Administrative Professionals) assists in providing professional growth opportunities and mentoring. At the College of Engineering, Chanda is a valued member of the DEI 2.0 Project Committee, where her efforts are geared towards improving intercultural competency, belonging and retention among faculty, postdocs and staff. Additionally, as a member of the WCTF (Women of Color Task Force), she contributes to the Recognition and Awards Committee and the Membership and Social Planning Committee, playing an integral part in driving diversity and inclusion initiatives within the community. Chanda holds a BBA from Howard University and a MBA and MS from Eastern Michigan University.

Christine Gerdes
Special Counsel to the Provost
Christine Gerdes serves as Special Counsel to the Provost, a position she has held since January, 2018. Prior to joining the Provost's Office, Christine served as an Associate General Counsel in the Office of the General Counsel, with responsibility for all faculty and house officer legal matters. She joined the University of Michigan in 2006, working in Academic Human Resources. Christine holds a J.D. from Wayne State University, a M.A. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Science - Teaching (English and History) from Winona State University. Prior to joining the University of Michigan, Christine worked as a labor and employment attorney in a large law firm, worked in Academic Human Resources at Eastern Michigan University, and worked in labor relations and employee relations for the Minnesota State College and University system.

Dianne Singer, M.P.H
Project Manager, Child Health Evaluation and Research Center, Division of General Pediatrics
Dianne is a Project Manager in the Department of Pediatrics and Communicable Diseases and the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation and has worked at Michigan Medicine for the past 14 years. Dianne manages the C.S. Mott Children's Hospital National Poll on Children's Health and the National Poll on Healthy Aging. These polls measure public perceptions and opinions which help inform the public, health care providers, and policymakers on issues related to health, health care and health policy affecting children and adults age 50 and older. Prior to joining U-M, Dianne worked for Leade Health as an Account Manager and for Parke-Davis as a Human Resources Generalist, Manager of Health and Safety and Research Associate in Cardiovascular Pharmacology. Dianne received her B.S. in Health Education and Psychology from Michigan State University and her M.P.H. in Health Behavior and Health Education from the University of Michigan.

Dyan Jenkins-Ali, MHSA
Chief of Staff for the Chief Health officer, Office of the President
Dyan Jenkins-Ali holds three roles within the university as recently appointed Chief of Staff for the Chief Health officer, Office of the President, Associate Director, VOICES UHR- Strategy and Planning and Adjunct Faculty, School of Public Health. In addition to these roles she held the role staff lead for the Campus Health Response Committee- President's committee and Senior Project Manager - University HR Strategy and Planning, managing administrative and operational projects that impact the development of goals and initiatives designed to enhance multiple student, staff, patient and faculty health benefits and experiences. Her health care career spans more than 27 years, in which time she has worked in an executive capacity with M-CARE, Delta Dental, Providence Hospital and Health Alliance Plan. Dyan has held a State of Michigan Agent//Producer License in Life, Health and Disability, and is a certified phlebotomist. She holds a membership with the Association of HealthCare Executives and National Association of Health Service Executives, past-treasurer of U-M's Letterwinners M Club Board in which she served nine years, and a diplomat with the U-M Credit Union. Dyan received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master's degree from the School of Public Health both from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.

Elizabeth Rohr, MSW
Wellbeing Advocate - Rackham Graduate School
Elizabeth Rohr is the Well-Being Advocate of the Rackham Graduate School, partnering with Rackham graduate program faculty, staff, and students to identify and address structural issues that impact graduate student mental health and well-being.
Elizabeth is a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Social Work, with an emphasis in interpersonal practice and mental health. She also holds a BS in Sociology with a minor in History from Northwestern University.
Elizabeth has had an eclectic professional journey. She's worked in the private sector as a corporate project and events manager; was a Public Allies Americorp member in Chicago working with HIV+ women and children, an intimate partner and sexual violence prevention peer educator in San Francisco, and helped conduct research and develop new programs for nontraditional graduate students at the Center for the Education of Women (CEW+) here at U-M. Prior to joining Rackham, she worked directly with undergraduate students to develop their mindful leadership skills at the LSA Barger Leadership Institute for 5 years.
As a social worker, Elizabeth believes in the capacity of people to advocate on their own behalf, as well as the importance of recognizing and respecting diverse perspectives, values, and experiences. She believes that the work she does here at the University has given her the opportunity to translate these beliefs into practice, while working every day with amazing students, staff, and faculty alike.

Emily Kate Stoneman, M.D.
Associate Professor of Internal Medicine; Medical Director, Occupational Health Services; Associate Hospital Epidemiologist, Department of Infection Prevention and Epidemiology
Dr. Stoneman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases. Her clinical responsibilities include providing care for patients with infectious diseases and performing clinical research. Dr. Stoneman is also Medical Director of Occupational Health Services, where she oversees prevention and treatment services related to workplace health and safety for U-M employees. She also serves as an Associate Hospital Epidemiologist in the Department of Infection Prevention and Epidemiology, where she works to reduce healthcare-associated infections. Dr. Stoneman is a member of various Michigan Medicine committees related to patient and workforce member safety, and a member of the U-M campus Public Health Infection Prevention and Response Advisory Committee. She earned her undergraduate degree from University of Michigan and her medical degree from Vanderbilt University.

James A. Bell
James Bell has been a board member of the U-M Retiree association since 2017. He has served as President of the Board and on numerous committees. Prior to retiring he most recently served as the Chief Administrative Officer for the U-M Medical School (1999-2016), and assistant director of Finance for the U-M Hospital (1980-1999). He was also a lead Healthcare Auditor for the State of Michigan Department of Social Services (1976-1980). From 1981-2009, he was a member of the Midwest Financial Credit Union Board, serving on numerous committees and as Chairman of the Board. He is a certified public account and a member of the State Bar of Michigan. He holds a BBA in accounting from Eastern Michigan University, and a Juris Doctorate from Thomas Cooley Law School.

Jeffrey T. Kullgren, M.D., M.S., M.P.H.
Kutsche Memorial Research Chair and Associate Professor of Internal Medicine Vice Chief for Research and Innovation, Division of General Medicine
Dr. Jeff Kullgren is the Kutsche Memorial Research Chair and Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan, where he is also Vice Chief for Research and Innovation for the Division of General Medicine and Director of the National Poll on Healthy Aging. Dr. Kullgren practices outpatient and inpatient general internal medicine at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System and is a Research Scientist in the Ann Arbor VA Center for Clinical Management Research. His research aims to help patients and clinicians make sound decisions that will improve the value of health care delivery.
