Due to current financial constraints, the University of Michigan has temporarily suspended the Service Award gifts program until further notice. Please email email@example.com with questions.
The Service Awards honors those staff who have made a significant career commitment to the University of Michigan. Each year, the university honors over 2,000 staff members reaching milestones of 10 years of service or more. Read more about the Service Awards and the staff who run the program.
Typically, each Fall, the university hosts two banquets to honor staff who have made an enduring commitment to Michigan of 30, 40, 45, 50, and 55 years of service. One banquet honors those with from Michigan Medicine and the other honors those from the Ann Arbor, Dearborn and Flint campuses. This year however was anything but "typical." We put a twist on this tradition and produced a virtual event to recognize and honor 422 staff members celebrating milestones in 2020. These individuals also received commemorative packages including a gift card for dinner and a special keepsake.
First Anniversary Award and Five-year Service Awards
Staff members will receive a key fob as a symbol of the university's gratitude for one year of service.
A special coaster set, featuring University of Michigan landmarks, is mailed to each staff member reaching the 5-year career milestone.
Service Awards for 10, 20, 30, 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 Years
Staff members who reach each of these increasingly impressive milestones will have the opportunity to select a gift of gratitude from the University of Michigan.
On a monthly basis, the Service Awards gift vendor, Engage2Excel, sends a catalog and online order information directly to staff members eligible for a 10-year or greater Service Award. In addition to the catalog, eligible staff members will receive a commemorative medallion.
Staff celebrating 20-years of service to the university also receive a $50 Gift Card to "have dinner on us."
