Service Awards

The Service Awards honors those staff who have made a significant career commitment to the University of Michigan. Each year, the university honors close to 1,300 staff members reaching milestones of 10 years of service or more.

Each Fall, the university hosts two banquets to honor staff who have made an enduring commitment to Michigan of 30, 40, 45 and 50 years of service. One banquet honors those with from the Health System and the other honors those from the Ann Arbor, Dearborn and Flint campuses.

First Anniversary Award and Five-year Service Awards

Staff members will receive a pewter key fob as a symbol of the university's gratitude for one year of service.

A special glass coaster set, featuring University of Michigan landmarks, is mailed to each staff member reaching the 5-year career milestone.

Service Awards for 10, 20, 30, 40, 45, 50 and 55 Years

Staff members who reach each of these increasingly impressive milestones will have the opportunity to select a gift of gratitude from the University of Michigan.

On a quarterly basis, the Service Awards gift vendor, TharpeRobbins, sends a catalog and online order information directly to staff members eligible for 10-year or greater Service Award.

Staff celebrating 20-years of service to the university also receive a $50 Darden Gift Card to “have dinner on us.”
