The Priority Health Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO) plan combines features of both Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) and Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans.
The plan offers a broad, Michigan-based provider network, including Michigan Medicine. Coverage is designed to encourage the use of in-network providers, as care received outside the network is generally not covered except for emergencies or urgent care. Members are required to select a primary care provider, but referrals are not needed to see in-network providers.
This plan is well-suited for individuals and families who primarily receive care in Michigan and value predictable costs with streamlined access to care. As with most U-M health plans, prescription drug coverage is included with enrollment.
