The University of Michigan offers a variety of health plan options for benefit-eligible active employees and pre-Medicare retirees, survivors and LTD participants.
These plans provide faculty, staff, retirees, and LTD participants with comprehensive medical coverage options designed to support physical and mental well-being.
Plan Options
U-M offers four plan choices to meet diverse needs, including:
- U-M Premier Care
- Priority Health EPO
- Comprehensive Major Medical (CMM)
- Community Blue PPO
- Consumer-Directed Health Plan (CDHP) with Health Savings Account (HSA)
Choosing a Health Plan
Choose a health plan that benefits you and your family the most. Before deciding, evaluate:
- All costs (premiums, deductibles, coinsurance and copays)
- Access to the doctors and hospitals you plan to use
- Anticipated health and financial needs for the coming year
- If you will be traveling or receiving medical care outside of Michigan
Preventive care has no out-of-pocket cost under any U-M health plan. U-M Premier Care members must select a primary care physician (PCP) upon enrollment.
