Use a technique from Liberating Structures to facilitate decision making or problem solving with a community organization you are involved with. Assess how it worked and download the app if you liked it.

Update your resume and show to three trusted people for their perspectives and feedback.

Treat everyone the way that they want to be treated.

Think of at least two other perspectives when addressing an issue the next time you participate in your U-M related committee or when Community of Practice meets.

The next time you attend an event or conference, either ask someone you know to introduce you to another participant or approach that person by yourself.

The next time that you feel that someone is in conflict with you, ask them if they have a few minutes. Using active listening and open body language, share that you are feeling tension and would like them to share with you. Listen and pause before commenting.

Talk to your supervisor about appropriate unit committees to serve on and how to go about joining one.

Talk to the next person you are in conflict with. Address events or behaviors, not personality and identify areas of agreement and disagreement.

Talk to one of your mentors about professional organization committees or work groups to join and how to do so.

Take a good look at your workload and determine what tasks and responsibilities you can designate to others.
