Delegate a project to a team: empower them to make decisions and oversee the workflow and leverage talents of their groups. Set clear and concise expectations, and a due date. Offer your support as a facilitator.

Create a short video for new hires to your team. Include information that you would have found helpful when you joined the group.

Compliment coworkers on a daily task that you appreciate or that they do well.

Check with other teams within your group and other teams across campuses for the use of a resource that you need to perform a task, (e.g. locating a specific type of microscope).

Celebrate with your team when it meets a big team goal.

Before submitting work, double check it and invite a colleague to proofread if you find that helpful.

At the beginning of your work day, write down 1-2 daily goals and objectives and place where you can see it. At the middle and end of the day, compare your output with daily goals as well as any team or project deadlines.

Ask your supervisor to explain the line of sight between your group's tasks and the mission and vision of your unit. Refer to the line of sight when motivating others.

Ask your supervisor if you can follow a new product or service through the entire idea, design, test market and launch cycle.

Ask to join of a task force or networking group that's addressing a pressing problem.
