Internships and Temporary Employment

MHealthy’s next possible internship offerings will be for Fall 2024.  Please check back on this page after July 15th for more information.

Depending on the semester, MHealthy may have internship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students in health education, nutrition, public health, and social work; specifically in behavior change program areas including alcohol management, nutrition, physical activity, and tobacco cessation. Internships may also be available in employee wellness, community health promotion, and work related to social determinants of health.

Prospective interns should consider the following:

  • Internship positions and specific projects or tasks vary based on seasonal MHealthy program needs and the individual interests and goals of selected interns.

  • In order to be considered for an MHealthy internship, potential interns must have completed at least their junior year of college and be majoring in a health-related field.

  • All internship positions are considered temporary employment and will be posted on the U-M job site

Volunteer Opportunities

Project Healthy Schools Health Ambassador

Health Ambassadors make a difference by teaching the Project Healthy Schools curriculum in Ann Arbor classrooms. Volunteers do not need teaching experience—just a passion to encourage sixth-graders to make healthier choices. If interested in volunteering, please email [email protected].

Temporary Employment

Exercise Class Instructors

If you are interested in instructing one of our classes you must currently be certified in Adult CPR/AED and currently certified in the area you wish to teach (Yoga, Pilates, Group Fitness, etc.). Open positions will be posted under “temporary employment” on the UM Careers Page.
