About POAM

Approximately 220 university employees on the Ann Arbor, Flint and Dearborn campuses and Michigan Medicine are represented by the Police Officers Association of Michigan. These men and women work in the U-M Police Department, Michigan Medicine, Museum of Art, Kelsey Museum and University Housing and provide important safety and security services. They help protect students, faculty, staff and patients, oversee information technology infrastructures, and perform homeland security functions, among other duties. 
    
Employees represented by POAM receive generous health care benefits, including low cost prescription drug coverage and copays for medical care, retirement savings plans with a 2-to-1 matching employer contribution, paid time off, overtime pay, as well as seniority and job security rights. 

The current POAM contract runs through December 16, 2025.
