Remote Work Collection System

Updated September 16, 2024

The new Remote Work Collection System is available. Unit leadership will inform employees when to begin using the new system.

New tools in Wolverine Access by navigating to Employee Self Service and Remote Worker simplify the process of capturing modes of work and remote/hybrid work agreements. These tools make the remote work agreement entry and approval process more efficient for individuals and managers with automated approval workflow, while also providing valuable information to support HR policies and workforce management.

Who Should Use the Remote Work Collection System?

Employees should talk with their supervisor to confirm if and when to use the new system. The system is immediately available for departments to use when they decide they are ready. Managers have until December 31, 2024, to ensure their area’s remote work information is entered and approved in the system.

  • Ann Arbor Campus staff, including temporary staff, who work in a hybrid or mobile/remote mode of work are required to enter remote work information into the system.
  • Academic units will decide at the unit level how faculty, research fellows, and GSAs will use the system, with consultation and assistance available from Academic HR.
  • Dearborn, Flint, and Michigan Medicine employees will receive information from their respective areas for using the system.
  • Employees working 100% onsite do not need to enter information in the system.

Support and Resources

Several resources are available to help ensure the successful use of the Remote Worker system. Additional questions should be directed to supervisor or unit’s HR representative(s).

Work Modes in Job Postings, U-M Careers and eRecruit

The university’s system for job postings and applicant management, eRecruit, was enhanced in July 2024 to include work modes in job postings. This is now a required field in all new job postings for the entire university. New functionality has been added to the U-M Careers website which allows job seekers the flexibility of searching for positions of interest based on work modes.
