Remote Work Central Data Collection system

New processes are rolling out through Wolverine Access to simplify the process to capture modes of work and associated remote/hybrid work agreements. Announced last year, these processes will help automate the remote work agreement workflow for individuals and supervisors, while providing central data collection of remote work arrangements to provide valuable information to support HR policies and workforce management.

The Wolverine Access M-Pathways system enhancements are designed to improve the employee experience for reporting modes of work, create efficiency while maintaining compliance for remote work agreement approvals, and increase the mode of work visibility with search functionality for job seekers. The enhancements are being developed in partnership with ITS, UHR, and representatives from several schools, colleges, and units including Michigan Medicine and Regional Campuses.

Enhancements to the system include:

  • Coming July 31, expect to see work modes in job postings. eRecruit, the university’s system for job postings and applicant management, will include a new required field to specify work modes in job postings. This enhancement will also allow job seekers to search for positions of interest at the university based on work modes. Hiring units must now include one or more work modes in new and cloned job postings.

  • A new Remote Worker module in Wolverine Access M-Pathways, will establish a uniform, centralized system to house remote work arrangement information. Agreement information for any regular and temporary staff, including student temporary staff, will be captured using Employee Self-Service functionality. The target go-live date is mid-September. Ann Arbor Campus staff will be required to enter remote work information into the system by the end of December 2024. Dearborn, Flint, and Michigan Medicine employees will receive information from their respective areas for using the system. Additionally, academic units will decide at the unit level how faculty, research fellows, and GSAs will use the system, with consultation and assistance available from Academic HR.

As system development evolves, notifications with the latest updates will be distributed to the university community.
