Form I-9 and E-Verify

Form I-9 is used to document verification of the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United States. As required by federal law, the university must complete Form I-9 for each individual hired for employment in the United States. Form I-9 is required for both citizens and noncitizens. The university is required to use the federal government’s E-Verify system to confirm the identity and work eligibility of faculty and staff (including temporary staff members) working on contracts that contain the FAR E-Verify requirement.
