Attend a onboarding breakout session offered at a professional conference.

Attend a domestic/foreign film or talk pertaining to civil rights and liberties.

Assign a project or task to a direct report that requires decision making. Support them with tools that have been helpful to you.

Assess growth opportunities and then look into a LinkedIn Learning or U-M professional development class that you could take.

Assess availability of resources that your team has or will need to carry out their work. Make inquiries with colleagues throughout your unit and then across your campus for additional resources.

Ask your supervisor if you can coach/mentor a new employee or intern in your area of expertise. Start by assessing their strengths and gaps in performance.

Ask your supervisor and other colleagues in your field for recommendations for regional or national organizations to get involved with.

Ask your mentors for direction on your vision statement and IDP. What has been helpful for them?

Advertise job postings throughout your internal and external networks and those of the university. 

Ask to manage a group of resistant people with low morale.
