Flu is appearing on campus earlier than usual this year, so getting your vaccinations should be a top priority this fall. You'll stay healthy and help protect others who might become very ill if exposed.
U-M faculty and staff have several options for receiving their vaccinations. Please determine which is the best approach for you.
Michigan Medicine and Medical School
Michigan Medicine employees, learners and volunteers can get more information about getting a flu shot through Occupational Health Services.
Ann Arbor Campus and UM-Dearborn
Drop-in clinics are available on both Ann Arbor campus and at UM-Dearborn. Some clinics will offer both flu and COVID-19 vaccines, while others will offer flu vaccines only.
Who can attend: Campus faculty, staff and students. Must be 18 and older.
Cost: Those covered under an accepted health insurance plan do not pay out-of-pocket. Please bring both your health insurance card and prescription drug insurance card. Those not using insurance, can pay out of pocket. The out-of-pocket cost for a 2025 flu vaccination, including a self-pay discount, is $45.20.
Ann Arbor Campus:
Drop-in vaccination clinics are available on select days across Ann Arbor’s campus through early December. Locations include Michigan Union, Michigan League, Duderstadt and more.
Note: Many campus departments, units and buildings have scheduled onsite flu vaccination clinics for their employees. Please check with your department's administrator to see if your area has scheduled its own on-site flu shot clinic.
Dearborn Campus:
Two drop-in flu and COVID-19 vaccination clinics are scheduled at UM-Dearborn:
-
Thursday, October 23, 12 – 5 p.m., University Center Kochoff Hall C
-
Wednesday, October 29, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., Fieldhouse Wellness Studio
The U-M Ann Arbor campus and UM-Dearborn clinics are provided by Michigan Medicine’s Flu/Immunization Program in collaboration with University Health & Counseling and MHealthy.
Off-site Vaccination Options
Faculty and staff at UM-Flint or those who cannot attend a campus clinic, as well as spouses/other qualified adults, dependents and retirees, can get flu or COVID-19 vaccinations at their doctor’s office, local clinic or most pharmacies.
When the flu or COVID-19 vaccination is administered at a pharmacy, there is no cost to you when either the member’s medical or prescription drug insurance card is provided. Do not use both cards or there could be confusion. Learn more about coverage through U-M health plans.
