Assist a non-profit you are involved in with their strategic plan. Align your volunteer involvement goals to the new strategic priorities.

Ask to review the strategic plan of an organization with which you volunteer.

Ask someone you disagree with to further expound on their viewpoint in order to get a better understanding. Listen attentively, put yourself in their position, and reflect before asking non-judgmental questions.

Ask questions to better understand the feelings of a friend or family member who seeks advice from you.

Ask people of different leadership levels and expertise to review your resume.

Ask people from outside of U-M about projects and initiatives of interest. They may offer perspectives and ideas that you can introduce to the university.

Ask guests who are coming to your home for a meal if they have dietary restrictions and plan the meal accordingly.
