Unconscious Bias in Recruiting and Hiring

Unconscious bias can exert an influence during the process of recruiting and hiring. This course provides a deeper look into how unconscious bias impacts decision making during the hiring process while looking at interventions to minimize the impact of bias in our hiring and selection processes.

With a person you are coaching, target in on a particular skill or aptitude they would like to hone (e.g., public speaking). Break it into smaller components. Demonstrate and then invite them to try. Offer positive and constructive feedback including a set of drills or strategies.

When meeting 1-1 with direct reports, discuss their strengths and talents and how they can be optimized.
