Nominate a staff or faculty member to serve on a a committee or work group.

Nominate a rising leader to serve on a U-M committee or working group that will expose them to new challenges and responsibilities, and networking opportunities.

Nominate a direct report who demonstrates accountability for an award.

Model the behaviors that you want your direct reports to exhibit; discuss with faculty or staff the behavior expectations you expect of them.

Model helpful behaviors and respectful language to everyone (e.g., say "hello" to people you see in the halls).

Mentor your mentee about navigating the organization's culture.

Mentor an individual who strives to obtain a leadership position in an organization that you volunteer with. Communicate that individual's intent with other leaders of that organization.

Mentor a student.

Mentor a recent hire who is new to U-M.

Mentor a new hire in your unit to become adept to the university's DEI goals, objectives and competencies.
