Volunteer to take a leadership role in a local professional or community organization that overlaps with your unit's mission and the interests of the university.

Volunteer to help another team develop a strategic plan.

Visit teams within your unit to communicate goals and the reasoning behind them. Invite questions, either at that time or via email, so that the goals are understood by all.

Using your Individual Development Plan (IDP) and resources that explain your unit's priorities, collaborate with your supervisor, or a coach, to create individual goals that are in sync with the priorities of your unit.

Use your creativity the next time you do not have all of the instructions or tools to complete a task.

Share the news and celebrate when you achieve a goal. Afterward, revise your goal.

Share experiences pertaining to DEI that you have experienced, or those you know have experienced, to express the importance of DEI initiatives for the immediate and greater university community.

Set short and long-term job-related goals and regularly check progress using your Individual Development Plan (IDP).

Serve on a capital campaign committee.

Serve as the representative for your unit on a university-wide project.
