Kacey Vaughn
Hazardous Waste Coordinator,
LSA Chemistry Department
Kacey Vaughn I am a University of Michigan alum, receiving a master of public health in Environmental Health Sciences in 2021. I am now the Hazardous Waste Coordinator for the LSA Chemistry Department. I am committed to fostering a safe, inclusive workplace where everyone feels like they have the chance to be heard. I have a unique view of UMICH due to my time as a staff member, a student, and as a contracted Hazardous Waste Hauler around campus with Drug and Laboratory Disposal, LLC. I spent many hours classifying and packaging chemicals in anticipation of the Ruthven and Kraus building renovations. It is my goal this year to obtain my Certified Hazardous Materials Management (CHMM) certification. My goal as a part of the Voices of the Staff ADEI committee is to contribute to creating an environment where all employees feel valued and respected. Outside of work, I enjoy bike riding and birdwatching. Feel free to connect with me, because I would love to collaborate and learn from fellow staff members!
