With your team, craft a compelling narrative supporting the need for change and how it will positively affect the organization. Pilot the message with a few people and request feedback.

With your project team, perform a post mortem on a project that didn't go as planned. Reflect on the positive and negative outcomes and brainstorm ways that negative outcomes could be avoided in the future.

With input from other Leaders of Multiple Teams, and stakeholders, develop a shared vision for your team/unit.

Walk around your office checking in and supporting direct reports (e.g., needing direction, motivation, empathy). Tie their contributions to the greater community that you serve.

Volunteer to work with a different group or team. Before joining them, reflect on your identities and how you demonstrate them and anticipate how you may come across to others.

Volunteer to present a brief tip at a staff meeting.

Volunteer to onboard a new hire or intern.

Volunteer for stretch tasks and assignments.

Volunteer for assignments outside of your area of comfort.

Troubleshoot a performance or quality problem found in a current project or service.
