Open Enrollment, your annual opportunity to change your health, dental, vision and legal coverage, continues through 5 p.m. Eastern Time Friday, Oct. 24.
Your elections will take effect Jan. 1, 2026.
This is also the time to enroll in Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) for next year.
Tools You Can Use
U-M provides comprehensive health plans. Several resources are available to help you select the plan that best fits your family’s needs; visit the Health Plan Resources web page to access tools such as:

If You Want to Change Your Benefits...
To change your benefits for 2026, sign in to Wolverine Access and follow the steps below:
-
Enter "Benefits" in the search bar and hit enter.
-
Click the Benefits Self-Service tile.
-
Click the Open Enrollment tile.
If You Want to Keep Your Current Benefits...
If you’re happy with your benefits, no action is required to keep them, except for Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs). If you have an FSA and want to participate in 2026, you will need to re-enroll. Visit the FSA page for more information.
However, if you and your dependents are currently enrolled in the Michigan Care health plan, you must select a different plan during Open Enrollment. If you don’t choose an alternate plan, you and your currently-enrolled, eligible-dependents will be automatically enrolled in the U-M Premier Care health plan for 2026. As previously announced, the Michigan Care health plan will be discontinued after Dec. 31, 2025.
