An improved New Employee Orientation module for Ann Arbor campus staff and a new onboarding website for all university staff and units are now available.

The U-M Onboarding website provides resources — including checklists for new hires and hiring managers and OnboardingA2 Maizey— to help incoming staff and hiring departments. Most of the new site's resources apply to new staff members working anywhere in the university. These resources can be supplemented with additional orientation materials provided by hiring units.

The Ann Arbor Campus New Employee Orientation (NEO) for Staff also has been updated and is available in an online module to be completed by new staff members on their first day of employment.

This new, asynchronous module focuses on welcoming staff to the U-M community. It is intended for regular, active, benefits-eligible staff in Ann Arbor campus units and provides:

  • An introduction to the U-M mission, vision, culture and values
  • An overview of U-M policies, payroll, employee support and resources
  • Information about university benefits and enrollment
  • Career and professional development resources and the next steps in the onboarding journey

Organizational Learning is hosting orientation sessions for hiring units. U-M Onboarding: Updated Tools to Enhance the Onboarding Experience sessions are available for registration:
