Standard Reports and Resources

Human Resources Information Services produces several reports on a recurring basis to address regulatory/institutional reporting requirements, complete survey requests and assist departments and units with human resources decisions. These reports are a collaboration with the Office of Budget and Planning and other departments.

Workforce Metrics

The Workforce Metrics dashboards provide summary data regarding the current workforce profile, demographic trends, and staff recruitment. The data is refreshed annually and reflects data as of November 1 of the year indicated.

Unit HR Metrics (Internal Report – Restricted Access)

The Unit HR Metrics dashboards provide critical data to university units and departments for human resource decision making. A significant part of the university budget is committed to our workforce to fund compensation and benefits, making human resource data critical to our stewardship and to building our investment. Using human resource data to understand changing trends allows us to consider proactive plans that respond to challenges and help sustain our leadership position as one of the nation's greatest public research universities.

Annual Salary Disclosure Report

The University of Michigan is required to produce an annual Salary Disclosure Report, in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act. Previous years of the report can be found online at the University Archives, Bentley Historical Library, or by calling the Bentley Historical Library at (734) 764-3482.

Analysis of Salaries Paid to the University of Michigan Regular Instructional Faculty, Regular Clinical Instructional Faculty, Lecturers and Graduate Student Instructors (FSA) Report

The FSA report analyzes current salaries of the University of Michigan's regular instructional faculty, regular clinical instructional faculty, lecturers, and graduate student instructors. The report is published annually and reflects data as of November 1 of the year indicated.

Faculty and Staff Profile by Headcount and FTE

The Faculty and Staff Profile is a comprehensive report that displays the number of faculty, staff, and supplemental employees by headcount and FTE across all campuses.

Annual FTE (Full Time Equivalent) Report

The Annual FTE Report provides a count of employees by their FTE, Funding Department, Fund Group, Job Family, and Tenure Status. The report is published annually and reflects data as of November 1 of the year indicated. This report can be accessed by U-M employees only.

IPEDS (Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System) HR Report

IPEDS is a system of interrelated surveys conducted annually by the U.S. Department’s National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). IPEDS gathers information from every college, university, and technical and vocational institution that participates in the federal student financial aid programs. Summary data for the University of Michigan’s Human Resources section of the IPEDS Survey is provided as a Tableau workbook. The report is published annually and reflects data as of November 1 of the year indicated. Job Classification and 3D Management Communication Report

The Job Classification and 3D Management Communication Report provides a listing of all active jobcodes at the university and a listing of all active jobcodes for the 3D (Deans, Directors, and Department Heads) categories. The report is provided as a series of Tableau workbooks. Data can be filtered and downloaded as a crosstab to Excel.

Other sources for HR reports and data are available and listed below. These environments can be accessed via Wolverine Access. There are security requirements for each environment.

eNotification

The eNotification system is an automated email service that sends notifications, based on specific job roles, to employees, supervisors, department managers and HR personnel.

Examples of notifications include:

  • Individual employee notifications to complete a specific action (i.e., select health benefits for new hires)
  • Notifications to supervisors, managers, or personnel recipients about an employee event (i.e., probation period ending)
  • Multi-tab reports for managers and personnel recipients about hires, terminations, transfers, etc.

The eNotification system extracts M-Pathways HR data and creates emails to specific recipients using a scheduling system detailed in the link listed below.
