New Mental Health Resources for the New Year

Your mental health support is expanding in 2026 with two new resources: a confidential online screening tool and free access to the Calm Health app. These tools are designed to help you check in on your emotional health and find the right support at your own pace.

Check in With New Confidential Screenings

U-M partners with Aiberry to provide a fast, easy, and completely anonymous way to check in on your emotional wellness. Aiberry mental health screenings help you understand how you are feeling and connect you with recommendations for next steps. Please note that screening results are for guidance only and are not a substitute for professional clinical evaluation.

  • Completely Anonymous: Your results are private and are not shared with the university.
  • Variety of Topics: You can choose to screen for several areas, including anxiety, depression, or general well-being.
  • Immediate Results: After answering a few questions, you will receive instant feedback and U-M resources that can help.

Calm Health App Now Available at No Charge

All faculty and staff covered by a Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) plan have access to a free subscription to Calm Health. This is a specialized version of the popular Calm app that focuses on self-guided clinical mental health support, as well as resources for specific health conditions and life experiences. Calm Health also includes practices to promote sleep, increase positive emotions, boost professional well-being, and reduce stress.

  • Tailored Content: Includes programs specifically designed for depression and anxiety, and the ability to create a personalized well-being plan based on your concerns, goals, and interests.
  • Health Education: Offers expert-led tracks to help you manage your emotional and physical well-being.
  • Easy Access: You can download the app and link it to your BCBS plan using your subscriber ID.

Go to the Calm Health website and choose “Create a Calm Account” to begin the registration process. If you’re asked for an access code, enter BCBSMI. Please note, you may be asked to add your BCBS Subscriber ID number, which can be found on your insurance ID card. See this Calm Health PDF for instructions for accessing the Calm Health app for more information. Calm Health is available at no cost to members on your medical plan who are 13 and older.
