As the fall semester gets into full swing, taking time to pause and reconnect can make all the difference for your focus, mood, and overall well-being. University Human Resources invites all U-M staff, faculty, and students to step outside for “A Breath of Fresh Air”—a guided 45-minute nature experience designed to help you reduce stress, refresh your energy, and practice mindfulness.

Scheduled for Tuesday, September 29, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m., this interactive outdoor break offers a simple yet powerful way to experience the mental and physical health benefits of nature.

Exploring Resilience, Climate, and Community

This session features special connections to Climate Week and the university's Human Health and Well-Being theme year. Facilitators will guide participants through mindful attention practices while exploring nearby trees and, pollinator gardens. Together, participants will discover how tuning into the natural world supports personal resilience and cultivates a sense of awe and wonder.

In addition to the guided walk, attendees will learn how to use the Nature Rx resources available in the Michigan App. These tools make it easy to find nearby outdoor spots for future breaks, quiet reflection, and daily stress relief.
