Alison Nix
Associate Director of Programs and Services
Alison Nix (she/her/hers) is Associate Director of Programs and Services at MHealthy. She has been with MHealthy and the University of Michigan for 12 years. Alison previously served on the Voices of the Staff Leveraging Technology team and was on the Core Team for one year. Alison has a MPH from the U-M School of Public Health and a MUP from the U-M Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning. When Alison is not working, she is wrangling her 9-year old daughter and her 12-year old son. She likes to spend time with family, visit her family’s cottage in E. Tawas, help manage the neighborhood swim team and tend to her house plants.

Project Manager in Organizational Learning
I’ve worked at the university for 15 years in October, primarily in student career advising. I’ve worked at the Ford School, established the career center at the School of Kinesiology, and helped to scale Rackham’s doctoral internship program. Currently, my primary project in Org Learning is the new centeralized onboarding program. I’m a positive org and DEI advocate. I have a BA in communication and psychology and a masters degree in career development. I am certified to admistinster career assessments such as MBTI and CliftonStrengths and I am a PMP. I’m excited to be a part of the EEE team!

Brandon Bond
Mental Health & Well-Being Student Advocate
Hi! I am Brandon Bond. I work as the Mental Health & Well-Being Student Advocate in the LSA Dean’s Office. I started the role in January of 2022. Prior to this role I was a graduate student in the Schools of Social Work and Public Health. I also completed my undergraduate degree at LSA. In my role as the Student Advocate I 1) support systematic, policy, and structural changes within LSA, 2) facilitate opportunities to centralize collaboration and well-being efforts, and 3) enhance crisis prevention efforts within LSA. I’m from Belleville, MI and in my freetime I enjoy playing tennis, swimming, traveling, practicing different languages, trying new cuisines, volunteering, and listening to music. This is my first year on Voices and I will serve as one of the Core members.

I was hired in February 2023 as a senior administrative assistant in the School of Information’s (SI) Office of the Dean. I provide support to the Associate Dean for Faculty and other projects arising in our office. For example, I recently served on a committee to update and expand SI’s staff award offerings. I have a master’s degree in Music Theory from the University of Minnesota. I live in Tecumseh, Michigan and enjoy gardening, playing piano, and reading books with my cat. This is my first year on Voices.

Graduate Medical Education (GME) Program Administrator for the Forensic and Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowships
I am a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in Psychology and Mathematics. I’ve worked at the university, within Michigan Medicine, since 2017. I currently work in the Department of Psychiatry as the Graduate Medical Education (GME) Program Administrator for the Forensic and Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowships. It brings me joy to help others. Throughout my career, I have always found myself connecting students with resources, helping them focus on their educational goals. I am also personally fulfilled through my various community outreach initiatives. I was a MHealthy Champion and an Ambassador for Wolverine Express, a group that highlights the importance of higher education among students in Southeastern Michigan high schools. I am currently a volunteer with Girls on the Run of Southeastern Michigan. In my spare time, I love spending time with my husband and two wonderful children, reading biographies, and being the loudest cheerleader for the home team. This is my first year on Voices of the Staff and I look forward to contributing to new and ongoing initiatives.

Hello! My name is Devon Spies. I work in Michigan Medicine Human Resources where I am an HR Employment Specialist. I’ve been with Michigan Medicine for 5.5 years. I have my Bachelors and Masters degrees from Michigan State University which makes me a Double Spartan. Go Green! I have 2 cats, 1 dog, and a six-month-old baby girl (as of July 2024). In my free time, I enjoy running, photography, and rock hunting. This is my second year on the Enhance the Employee Experience Team and I was one of our Core Team members last year.

I started my journey at the Shared Service Center in 2018, transitioned to LSA Finance in 2021, and currently serve as a Financial Specialist at the Rackham Graduate School since 2022. Some of the larger tasks that fall in the scope of my position include Block Grant funding, Internal Controls, and Rackham Cost Sharing. In addition to being full-time at Rackham I am a student at Eastern Michigan University pursuing a MBA in Finance and a Masters in Science in HR and Organizational Development. This being my first year on Voices of the Staff I am excited to see what the future holds!

Hello! My name is Jennifer Peterson. I work at the School of Dentistry. I am the office manager in the Orthodontic clinic. I have been with the University for 20 years! I received a ISP/Bachelor of General Studies from Eastern Michigan University. I was born and raised in pure Michigan! I’m a “rock hound” and absolutely love everything about our shorelines! I have two beautiful children, 2 dogs (Kodi and Midge) and 2 cats (Echo and Ziggy)! I’m excited to see what this year brings as I am a new member of the Voice!
