Mentor a recent hire who is new to U-M.

Meet with your mentee to go over their stretch goals and plans to achieve them. Offer guidance and support as needed.

Meet with your mentee or developing leaders to teach them different ways to break goals into processes. Explain the process, demonstrate it, then ask them to try. Before the meeting, ask them to bring a goal to work through.

Meet with direct reports to review their Individual Development Plan (IDP) and go over their stretch goals and processes to achieve them. Check in periodically to learn their progress.

Meet with direct reports experiencing difficulties performing particular tasks to determine underlying issues and how best to support them (e.g., peer coach, classes, tips and suggestions).

Meet with a person outside of the university whom you see as a very good communicator to learn tips and suggestions.

Meet with a mentor to discuss your short and long terms goals, and determine several stretch assignments that could help you reach those goals.

Meet with a mentor to determine appropriate milestones to set in order to reach a career goal.

Meet with a mentor or coach to talk about and design a strategy to champion an unpopular action in your unit.
