Fresh, Local Produce Returns to Campus This Summer

Looking for a way to enjoy fresh, local fruits and veggies without leaving campus? MHealthy has you covered – summer produce is back at U-M! 

From July through September, look for a variety of markets and produce programs across the Ann Arbor campus, offering fresh, locally sourced goods ranging from farm-fresh produce to handmade products and made-from-scratch foods.     

Monthly Summer Markets at NCRC

The MHealthy Summer Market returns to the North Campus Research Complex (NCRC) with three events this summer:

July 15, Aug. 19 and Sept. 16

11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

NCRC, Building 18, Ground Floor 

Each market features multiple vendors selling fresh produce, farm products, scratch-made pastas and baked goods, honey, hand-crafted items and other locally made foods.

Weekly M Farmers Markets at EAAHC and WAAHC

Stop by the weekly M Farmers Markets at the East and West Ann Arbor Health Centers (EAAHC and WAAHC), where you’ll find fresh fruits, veggies and other farm products. Purchases can be made with cash or credit/debit cards. Bringing your own reusable bags is encouraged.

West Ann Arbor Health Center

Markets run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the following dates:

  • July 10 and 23

  • August 6 and 20

  • September 3 and 17

East Ann Arbor Health Center

Markets run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the following dates:

  • July 16 and 30

  • August 13 and 27

  • September 10 and 25

Produce Boxes from Argus Farm Stop

MHealthy also partners with Argus Farm Stop to offer weekly produce box subscriptions. Each box, priced at $30, contains six to nine seasonal items selected by Argus staff.

Boxes can be picked up at one of seven campus-area locations, including Maize and Blue Cupboard, the Bioscience Research Building, NCRC, West Ann Arbor Health Center and more.

Programs like this support the university’s commitment to being a health-promoting university and provide access to nutritious, affordable and sustainable locally sourced foods and products.
