Be a Quitter on November 18

Be a Quitter on November 18

If you’re thinking about quitting tobacco (including cigarettes, smokeless, cigars, pipes, vapes), November 18 may be a good time to start your journey. The Great American Smokeout, held every year on the third Thursday in November, is an opportunity to join millions of people who are on the same path as you.

Quitting is one of the best things you can do for yourself. Tobacco use remains the single largest preventable cause of disease and premature death in the country.

Whether you are thinking of quitting on November 18 or any other day, you don’t have to go it alone. The university offers a number of programs and resources to help you, including:

Get free, one-on-one individual counseling focused on the body, mind, and social reasons for using tobacco. Available to faculty and staff, and their spouses or other qualified adults.
