In 2005, President Mary Sue Coleman launched the Child Care Initiative with the goals of increasing child care capacity, increasing capacity for infants and toddlers and improving the facilities in which care is provided. As of July 2011, these goals have now been achieved. The original five Ann Arbor campus centers have been consolidated into three children’s centers, all serving infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
