Four hundred and ninety-nine employees on the Ann Arbor, Dearborn and Flint campuses and Michigan Medicine are members of the Skilled Trades Union.  They are involved in the maintenance, repair, and renovation of the University’s physical properties; the installation, maintenance, and repair of biomedical equipment; and specialty services like cabinetry, signage, and painting.

Employees represented by the Skilled Trades Union receive generous health care benefits including prescription drug coverage, overtime pay, paid time off, a retirement savings plan with a 2-to-1 matching employer contribution, and more.

The current Skilled Trades contract expires on May 31, 2027.
