Disrupting Everyday Bias For Leaders
Biases exist within everyone, and it is up to each individual to understand their biases and work to disrupt them to prevent negative impacts on others.
Register for the Disrupting Everyday Bias For Leaders session on Monday, Dec. 9 to get started. In this course, you will learn about the fundamental concepts for understanding and disrupting your everyday biases. Together we will examine the PAUSE model for identifying and disrupting your biases, as developed by Be Equitable.
You will learn to:
- Identify ways bias is shaped and shows up in the workplace
- Use strategies like the PAUSE model to reduce bias on your team and mitigate the negative impacts of biases on work culture
- Determine the appropriate method to apply when disrupting bias
- Define how biases impact relationships, policies and practices and team culture
You will benefit by:
- Obtaining tools to help you create an environment that reduces bias and fosters cultures of inclusion
- Practicing methods to identify and disrupt bias
- Applying the PAUSE model to effectively disrupt your own bias
- Executing methods to intervene on bias as a leader
Audience:
U-M leaders with administrative/formal supervision of at least one direct report who aim to create an environment free from bias and fear impacting their employees' work experience and success.
