Kadesha Baker, Program Director

Kadesha has been a part our staff for a combined total of 9 years as a preschool teacher before she became the program director. She studied early childhood development and social work at Eastern Michigan University. Kadesha has over 20 years of preschool teaching experience, with strong background in diversity and inclusion preschool curriculum planning. She facilitates diversity training and has created a multicultural preschool curriculum program. During her social work internship at Eastern Michigan University's Autism Collaborative Center, she developed a play-based program for preschool-aged children with early signs of autism spectrum disorders.

Brigid Williams, Administrative Assistant

Brigid holds a B.S. degree in elementary education from Eastern Michigan University, and a State of Michigan elementary teaching certificate with a reading endorsement. Brigid had six years of experience working with young children before joining the U-M Children's Centers in 2011. 

Teaching Staff

Tanesha Conner

Tanesha has been working in early childhood for 20 years and has been teaching at UMHSCC for 13 years. She has a master of arts in professional counseling from Central Michigan University, as well as a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan.

Dana Federer

Dana has been working in early childhood for 32 years and has been teaching at UMHSCC for 17 years. She has an associate's degree in child care from Washtenaw Community College.

Lisa Girbach

Lisa has been working in early childhood for 13 years and has been teaching at UMHSCC for seven years. She is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in elementary education at Eastern Michigan University, majoring in early childhood education with a minor in math.

Kim Pascoe

Kim has been working in early childhood for 28 years and has been teaching at UMHSCC for seven years. She has an associate's degree in child care and development and an associate's degree in child care and special education, both from Schoolcraft College.

Kathy Periord

Kathy has been working in early childhood for 13 years and has been teaching at UMHSCC for eight years. She has an associate's degree in child care from Washtenaw Community College.

Heidi Coyne

Heidi has been working in early childhood for 19 years and has been teaching at UMHSCC for two years. She is pursuing an associate's degree in child care, along with working on child development associate certification.

Cathy Daniels

Cathy has been working in early childhood for 31 years, including at a parent cooperative program at Stanford University. She's been teaching at UMHSCC since it opened in 1991. She has a B.S in child development from California Polytechnic State University and has taken several post-graduate early childhood courses at Eastern Michigan University. 

Leah Davis

Leah has been working in early childhood for 23 years and has been teaching at UMHSCC for 16 years. She has an associate's degree in child care from Washtenaw Community College. 

Marci Masserant

Marci has been teaching in early childhood for 11 years. This is her third year at UMHSCC. She has taught preschool to third grade in public and Montessori schools. She received her B.S. in elementary education with an early childhood endorsement from Eastern Michigan University. She obtained her M.A. in elementary and early childhood education from Toledo University. She is Montessori-certified and has her elementary teaching certificate through the state of Michigan.

Jill Bauer

Jill has been working in early childhood for 16 years and has been teaching at UMHSCC for three years. She has taken courses in child care and early education at Schoolcraft College.

Brandy Logan

Brandy has been teaching at UMHSCC for 15 years.She is pursuing an associate's degree in child care at Washtenaw Community College. 

Krystyna Ozog

Krystyna has been working in early childhood for 21 years and she has been teaching at UMHCCC since  2005. She received her associate's degree in child development from Washtenaw Community College and obtained her B.S. in the individualized study program from Eastern Michigan University. 

Janis Sargent

Janis has been working in early childhood for 24 years and has been teaching at UMHSCC for 18 years. She has an associate's degree in child care from Washtenaw Community College.

Jyothi Varma

Jyothi has been working in early childhood for 17 years and has been teaching at UMHSCC for seven years. She has a bachelor's degree in education and a bachelor's degree in biological sciences, both from Osmania University.

Katrina Castelow

Katrina has been teaching at UMHSCC for eight years. She has taken courses in elementary education at Washtenaw Community College.

Patrina Gregory

Patrina has been working in early childhood for 21 years and has been teaching at UMHSCC for 14 years. She has taken courses in child care at Washtenaw Community College.

Emily McCarty

Emily has been working in early childhood for 12 years and has been teaching at UMHSCC for eight years. She has an associate's degree in child care from Washtenaw Community College.

Pam White

Pam has been working in early childhood for 25 years and teaching at UMHSCC for 20 years. She has an associate's degree in child care from Washtenaw Community College as well as her child development associate certification. 

Karyn Davenport

Karyn has been working in early childhood for 17 years, and has been teaching at UMHSCC for nine years. She has a bachelor's degree in elementary education from John Brown University, as well as an associate's  degree in Art from Delta College.

Lisa Rousseau

Lisa has been working in early childhood for 27 years, and has been teaching at UMHSCC for six years. She has a child development associate certification from Washtenaw Community College.

Suzanne Pehrson

Suzanne has been working in early childhood for 27 years, and has been teaching at UMHSCC for 19 years. She has a child development associate certification, and has taken courses in child care at Washtenaw Community College and Eastern Michigan University.

Nancy Thorp

Nancy has been working in early childhood for 19 years, and has been teaching at UMHSCC for nine years. She has a B.S. in therapeutic recreation from Eastern Michigan University, and has taken courses in nursing at Schoolcraft College.

Bounthay (Bee) Inthaphone

Bee is a graduate of Washtenaw Community College with an associate's dregree in child care. She had over four years of experience working with young children before joining our program. Bee has been teaching with the Children's Centers since August 2009.

Kathleen Gubacz

Kathleen has been working in early childhood for 18 years, and has been teaching at UMHSCC for nine years. She has an associate's degree in child care from Washtenaw Community College. 

Lynn Yurkunas

Lynn has been working in early childhood for 13 years and has been teaching at UMHSCC for eleven years. She has an associate's degree in child care from Washtenaw Community College, as well as her child development associate certification.

Courtney Boik

Courtney has been teaching at UMHSCC for 5 years. She has a B.S. in therapeutic recreation from Eastern Michigan University.

Beth Czuj

Beth has been working in early childhood for 7 years and has been teaching at UMHSCC for four years. She has a B.S. in elementary education from Eastern Michigan University.

Trisha Hansen

Trisha was a social worker in the beginning of her career and then has been teaching since the year 2000. She began working at UMHSCC in March of 2015. She has a bachelor's degree in family studies and psychology, a master's degree in social work with Michigan licensure, and a Michigan teaching certificate in elementary education with additional endorsements in English language arts and early childhood education. She is currently working toward another endorsement in early childhood special education. 

Ashley Fausneaucht

Ashley earned her associate degrees at Jackson Community College and her bachelor's degree in children and families from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. She also played women's college basketball all four years. She has been teaching at UMHSCC for three years. 

Joy Gonyo

Joy has been teaching at UMHSCC for 15 years. She is currently pursuing an associate's degree in child care from Washtenaw Community College.

Mary Maloney

Mary has been working in the field of early child care for over 25 years. She has an associate's degree in child care from Washtenaw Community College. She has worked as an assistant teacher at Washtenaw Community College and head teacher at the YMCA and Head Start. She is currently pursuing her bachelor's degree at Eastern Michigan University.

Edward Yuill

Ed has been working in early childhood for 11 years and has been teaching at UMHSCC for seven years. He has a B.A. in elementary education from Michigan State University, as well as an associate's degree in business administration from Oakland Community College.
