Sept. 18, 2 p.m.  – Mental Health Hygiene 101

Healthy eating and regular exercise promote good physical health, but what practices can we do to promote good mental health? Attend Mental Health Hygiene 101, an informal presentation offering strategies and tips on how to support your overall emotional well-being.

Sept. 19, 12 p.m. – Three-Bean Chili Three, Four (and More!) Ways

The beauty of chili is its delicious flavors, versatility and relatively low cost per serving. This three-bean chili recipe is perfect on its own, on top of spaghetti, over rice or nachos, or on a baked potato. Choose to load it with vegetables, turkey, beef or tofu. Our MHealthy chef will prepare a big, 10-cup pot of chili that can be served that day, enjoyed as leftovers or put in the freezer for future enjoyment. You’ll also get tips on the best way to cut, store and prepare your ingredients.

Sept. 20, 11 a.m. – The Journey to Financial Wellness: Here’s Your Roadmap

Being financially healthy is a critical piece of our overall wellness. However, financial wellness is not just about earning a lot of money. Financial health means you have the ability to reach your individual goals and take advantage of opportunities. It also gives you flexibility to pursue your dreams. But how do we get there? Through careful money management and establishing habits that help us avoid those financial potholes. In this session U-M Credit Union’s financial education manager will share ways to be smart with credit, maintain a balanced monthly spending plan, and make sure our savings goals are being met.
