How Can You Join the Fight for Justice?

Start somewhere. Begin the fight for justice. Push through discomfort and fear.

The Anti-Racism Primer provides introductory content for an issue that requires a lifelong commitment to learning. This content is available at no cost to U-M faculty and staff.

The materials are intended for anyone who would like to learn about white privilege, institutional and systemic racism and how to actively engage in fighting against inherently racist and oppressive systems. Choose to go at your own pace or receive weekly learning activities. The content has been updated for 2021.

Option 1: Quick Start Self-Guided Course

If you want to get started and go at your own pace,  download the quick-start guide. It includes four sections, intended to be spread over four weeks. Each has links to resources, articles, videos, podcasts and more. There is also a set of starter questions and a place for you to reflect on what you learned that week.

Option 2: Email Subscription Cohort

You can also sign up to receive a weekly email. This option provides a weekly email with recommended learning activities to be completed that week. It is intended to be a jump- start for individuals who would like to actively engage in anti-racism activism, but don't know where to start.
