February Cooking Classes: Heart Healthy Soups and Citrus

Learn to make delicious, healthier foods at MHealthy’s free virtual cooking classes. Registration opens January 16 for February’s two-class series. Register by 10 a.m., January 26.

February is American Heart Month. In support, classes will use vitamin-packed citrus, vegetables and protein to create heart healthy dishes for you and your loved ones. Each 45-minute class includes interacting live with expert chefs and dietitians.

  • February 15: Sunny Citrus (12 – 12:45 p.m.) – In this class, you’ll use sweet, brightly colored citrus fruits to bring a burst of sunshine into winter days. You’ll prepare a lemon caper sauce that goes great with fish and a citrus salad full of heart-healthy nutrients like vitamin C, potassium, fiber and flavonoids.

  • February 22: Heart-y Soups (12 – 12:45 p.m.) – In this class, you’ll prepare easy to make soups with lots of vegetables, broth, herbs and spices. These soups are good for you, filling, comforting and delicious.

MHealthy hosts new cooking classes each month. Registration opens a few weeks before the first class date – sign up to be notified when registration opens for new classes.

MHealthy Cooking Classes support the growing field of culinary medicine. It explores the links between food and health, applying the foundations of nutritional science side-by-side with traditional medical interventions in clinical care.
