How You Can PArticipate

Everyone Helped VOICES Begin.

As we celebrate VOICES achievements of the past four years, we look forward to transitioning into the future.  Following the MSpeaks Town Hall Meeting in February, Voices of the Staff conducted a comprehensive all-staff survey to identify the top issues and opportunities in the minds of our community. The survey yielded over 4,000 responses, resulting in six topics viewed as highest priorities to staff and supported by executive leadership as VOICES topics of focus for 2009-2010:

  • Benefits, Health and Well-Being
  • Career Development
  • Technology & Best Practices
  • Environmental Stewardship
  • Leadership Development
  • Work Climate

Speak for yourself…and for others.

The members of the VOICES network groups are selected from the overall pool of applicants to represent a microcosm of the U-M staff community in terms of work areas, gender, ethnicity and other demographics.

Staff members may nominate themselves to join the VOICES team or may be nominated by human resources professionals in units throughout the University.

How can staff become part of the VOICES Network?

University staff with at least one year of service can volunteer or be nominated to serve on the network group of their choice based on the topic of greatest interest by completing and submitting an application form and sending it in.  Members are chosen from the pool of applicants to create a microcosm of the larger U-M staff community in terms of career families, academic and administrative units, and other demographics.

For additional information on being selected and serving as a VOICES volunteer, please see More Details.
