The information provided in this Reduction-in-Force Employee Information Guide has been prepared as a reference for employees who have been affected by layoff. The information is intended to clarify the Reduction-in-Force process and policy and provide resources to staff members during a Reduction-In-Force (RIF). It is intended to supplement the information in SPG 201.72, Reduction-In-Force, and not to replace it. In the event of any apparent inconsistencies between the two documents, the policy itself (the SPG) should be considered to be the controlling document.
This guide is maintained and updated by the Staff University Human Resources Services Department.
