Work/Life Resource Center

The Work/Life Resource Center (WLRC) represents the University's commitment to an environment which is supportive of, and sensitive to, the interface between work life and family/personal life. The WLRC program works to encourage and promote enlightened, family-responsive policies and practices. Services include information and referral about licensed child care centers and family day care homes in southeast Michigan; assistance in locating services and resources for elderly or disabled relatives throughout the country; work/life/family seminar series, financial aid programs and information for dependent care assistance; supervisory training on policies and practices affecting employees who have family responsibilities; and information on telecomuting, flex time, job sharing and other flexible work options.

In addition, WLRC offers Kids Kare at Home, a program to help families at the University of Michigan who have sick children or who need back-up emergency care for times when regular child care is not available. For more information, call (734) 936-8677 or visit the Web at
