Eligibility
Available to both male and female staff members within the first year of a child’s birth, adoption, or foster care placement.
Maximum Duration of Initial Leave
6 months (does not have to commence immediately after birth or placement)
Maximum Duration Including Extension
Must be taken in one block of time at any point within 12 months from date of birth or placement; must also be completed within that time
