People Management 101: Introduction to Payroll

This awareness level course will guide participants through the payroll process. We will discuss the policies, procedures and regulations related to payroll processing. The goal is to ensure that employee pay is accurate and on time. It is part of the Leadership 101 Curriculum.

You will learn to: 

  • Apply the most important payroll policies and procedures that will help ensure accurate and timely pay for your employees

  • Report time in compliance with FLSA regulations, as well as U-M policies and contracts

You will benefit by:

  • Gaining an understanding of the available resources that can assist you in answering payroll related questions from your staff

Audience:

Any U-M faculty and staff managers or supervisors who would like to learn more about  processing payroll for their direct reports
