The University of Michigan-Flint American Federation of Teachers-American Association of University Professors (AFT-AAUP), Chapter 5671 was recognized in April 2024. The union represents approximately 160 tenured and tenure-track faculty members at the UM-Flint campus.

The current collective bargaining agreement with UM-Flint AFT-AAUP is a four-year contract that took effect on April 23, 2025 and expires on April 20, 2029.
