Life's unpredictable moments just got a little bit easier. The university has teamed up with Bright Horizons to provide backup options and resources that help you juggle your personal and family responsibilities.

"We're thrilled to offer these valuable services for more than just backup child care,” said Christine Snyder, director of U-M Child and Family Care. “Now, many more faculty and staff like you can benefit, making it easier to handle life's demands while knowing you have extra support to lean on."

Newly expanded Backup Child, Adult, and In-home Care Resources

  • 15 days of annual backup care for kids, adults, elder relatives, and even for you!

  • Low copays: $15/child/day or $25/family/day for center-based care, $8/hour for in-home care

  • Support for your adult and elder relatives in their home or yours

  • Premium membership to Sittercity (similar to the service provided through Care.com)

If eligible, you can take advantage of affordable care options, no matter your household income. This includes care for adult and elder relatives at home, as well as self-care support. Plus, the university has covered the cost of premium membership to Sittercity. This gives you the option to find babysitters, housekeepers, and pet-care providers. Remember, though, you'll need to handle finding and paying for Sittercitty services.
