Council of Nontraditional Students (COUNTS) Toolkit for Supporting Students

This online, self-paced toolkit provides an interactive learning experience for Ann Arbor campus staff. It will allow you to become more knowledgeable about common identities and how they can affect students' experiences. We will:

  • Explore common challenges many nontraditional students face
  • Discuss tips and tricks that staff can easily implement to best support students

You will learn to:

  • Recognize the needs of nontraditional students at U-M and common challenges they might face
  • Identify campus resources that help address the needs of nontraditional students

You will benefit by:

  • Developing an increased awareness about the varied identities many students at U-M hold
  • Learning methods to create positive change for nontraditional students

Audience:

Any staff, faculty or students who would like to support nontraditional students at U-M, especially staff members in student-facing roles

This course was designed in collaboration with CEW+ and the Council of Nontraditional Students (COUNTS).
