Only Pay for What You Use with Temp Staff

The university’s trusted resource for exceptional temp staff talent is making a change to its rate structure. Beginning January 2020, U-M Temporary Staffing Services is transitioning from a flat-rate to fees that reflect a percentage of hours worked based on salary.

“It’s more equitable for university units,” explains Jennifer Symanns, Program Manager of Temporary Staffing Services. “You are simply paying for the services that you use. So fees for a part-time position will be lower than those of a full-time position.”

The new fee is a nine percent markup to the temporary employee’s salary. This percentage-based fee model is common practice within the temporary services industry. The fee covers operational costs for Temporary Staffing Services, a self-funded university unit.

“No temp agency knows the university like us,” adds Symanns. “And you’ll find that we are most likely your best value for helping you fill your positions in this incredibly tight job market.”
