Group offers new moms support for returning to work

New Mom support group

Are you a new mom (or soon-to-be one) looking for some peer support to prepare for the challenges of returning to work?

The Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FASAP) offers a drop-in style group for women returning to work following the birth and/or adoption of a child. The group addresses various topics, including work-life balance, separation anxiety, familial adjustments, lactation support, baby blues, sleep hygiene, child care, and building a post-partum support system. And the next group meets Thursday, January 11, 2018.

The group focuses on discussion of participant experiences as well as educational components. There is no charge to attend and regular attendance is not required, however, participants must register monthly due to limited space. Women may attend the group starting in their third trimester of pregnancy through the time that their child is 2 years of age. And, of course, babies are welcome!
