Give a Gift to Future-You

Not-so-fun fact: The average American will spend up to $2,000 on holiday gifts this year. Paying off those bills could put a dent in your 2022 finances.

Here’s a better idea, according to retirement specialists: Invest a small percent of your gift budget in your U-M Retirement Savings Plans. If you plan to spend $1,500, invest $15 in your existing retirement plan. Keeping up that small investment increase each month will have you singing “Deck the Halls” throughout your retirement years.
