Ginsberg Center Has Election Resources for You

A person casts their ballot to vote.

As the 2024 presidential election approaches, The Ginsberg Center has resources to help faculty, staff, and students engage in the process and prepare to vote.

The Ginsberg Center works with the entire campus community to advance knowledge, skills, and commitment to socially responsible civic engagement. Democratic engagement—including non-partisan voter engagement, civics and media literacy, and dialogue across difference—are crucial components within the full scope of its civic engagement work.

As a partner in the UMICH Votes Coalition, the Ginsberg Center is a key partner in helping improve the accessibility of voting, foster confidence to navigate the voting process, and helping individuals understand why their votes matter.

The Civic and Democratic Engagement guide for faculty and staff contains a variety of resources including information, activities, and assignments for how to incorporate civic and democratic engagement in your course or program.

The Ginsberg Center also partnered with CRLT to create the Promoting Democracy Teaching Series. The purpose of this series of workshops is to help instructors find connections between election issues and their academic disciplines and learn strategies for promoting civic and democratic engagement.

Upcoming workshops include:

  • Framing and Facilitating High Stakes Discussions: Election Edition

  • Connecting Your Course to the 2024 Election

  • Making the Most of 'Hot Moments': Election Edition

  • Teaching in Tumultuous Times

These workshops are open to U-M faculty, graduate students/GSIs and post-docs. Registration is required.

Resources from this series are also available on the Ginsberg Center website
