Born with down syndrome, Karen Gaffney never lets anyone tell her no. Because of her accomplishments in academia, athleticism and advocacy, she received a Doctorate of Humane Letters, the first living person with Down syndrome to do so. 

National Disability Employment Awareness Month is an opportunity to celebrate the many achievements of workers with disabilities and learn about the significance of a workforce that embraces their talents and skills.
