RESPONSIBILITY ACTION
Procedure A: To create a new position
Administrative Head of Requesting Department

Obtain budget approval from appropriate authority.

Complete Form 36200 (Position Description).

Send form to the applicable Academic & Staff HR Services, Health System HR, or regional HR office.

Academic & Staff HR Services, Health System HR, or Regional HR office

Analyze and evaluate request and determine appropriate classification.

Inform requesting department of determination.

Establish position.

Procedure B: To change an existing position
Administrative Head of Requesting Department

Obtain budget approval from appropriate authority.

Complete Form 36200 (Position Description).

Send Form 36200 to the applicable Academic & Staff HR Services, Health System HR or Regional HR office.

Academic & Staff HR Services, Health System HR, or Regional HR office

Analyze and evaluate position and determine appropriate classification.

Inform requesting department of approval status.

Administrative Head of Requesting Department Complete Change Worksheets in Wolverine Access and send to the applicable Academic & Staff HR Services, Health System HR, or Regional HR office.
Academic & Staff HR Services, Health System HR, or Regional HR office Review and approve Change Worksheet. Send a copy of the Change Worksheet to HR Records and Information Services for processing.
HR Records and Information Services Initiate notification of change to staff member and department to complete reclassification.
