Reports: Human Resource Data Administration
Approval for access to the HRMS Data Warehouse should through your HR Unit Liaison. The approval process is based on a 'need to know' basis for staff in the University community to do their job more efficiently and effectively. Access to the HRMS OLTP and ODS reporting environments is limited, but can be processed through your HR Unit Liaison for consideration as well.
HRMS Data Warehouse
Provides access to HR data for departmental users who have a need to access the data to do their jobs more efficiently and effectively.
Business Objects is the supported interface used to access this data in a point and click manner to develop your own reports and retrieve information you need to gather. There are also many predefined (canned) reports available through the Business Objects interface that allow you to gather certain information quickly and with little knowledge of the tool and/or system.
HR Data
The Human Resource portion of the Data Warehouse that gives you access to personnel data from July 2001 forward. To get access to this data set you need to have your departmental HR Unit Liaison complete an Online Access Request System (OARS) form for you. At that time, an analyst from the HRMS CPU may contact you to verify need for authorization.
HR Snapshot Data
The Human Resource portion of the Data Warehouse that gives you access to snapshots of personnel data as of the 1st of the current month and annual November snapshots beginning 2001. To get access to this data set you need to have your departmental HR Unit Liaison complete an Online Access Request System (OARS) form for you. At that time, an analyst from the HRMS CPU may contact you to verify need for authorization.
HR Legacy Data
The Human Resource portion of the Data Warehouse that gives you access to personnel data from November 1978 through June 2001. To get access to this data set you need to have your departmental HR Unit Liaison complete an Online Access Request System (OARS) form for you. At that time, an analyst from the HRMS CPU may contact you to verify need for authorization.
Access & Training
A signed Access and Compliance form on file is required prior to receiving access to U-M administrative data resources. The form is available in the training course DCE101 Access and Compliance - eLearning Course.
This training course covers government regulations and university policies regarding data access and compliance.
A list of available classes for the HRMS Data Warehouse data sets and Business Objects can be accessed on-line via MyLINC. Information Services staff are also able to provide special instructor led training as well. Other documents including data dictionaries for each data set can be found on-line.
