REPORTS: Human Resource Data Administration

Approval for access to the HRMS Data Warehouse should through your HR Unit Liaison. The approval process is based on a 'need to know' basis for staff in the University community to do their job more efficiently and effectively. Access to the HRMS OLTP reporting environment is limited, but can be processed through your HR Unit Liaison for consideration as well.

HRMS Data Warehouse

Provides access to HR data for departmental users who have a need to access the data to do their jobs more efficiently and effectively.

Business Objects is the supported interface used to access this data in a point and click manner to develop your own reports and retrieve information you need to gather. There are also many predefined (canned) reports available through the Business Objects interface that allow you to gather certain information quickly and with little knowledge of the tool and/or system.

Access

Several important University, state, and federal policies affect how we use information at the University of Michigan.  University policies, as well as federal and state laws, define the privileges and the responsibilities for both individuals and the institution.  These policies provide the framework in which we use, interpret, distribute, store and discard information.

As a UM employee, you are a guardian of all the University’s data.  As a user of the M-Pathways system, you accept the responsibility to use UM data appropriately. UM data is a valuable institutional resource, and some data contain personal and confidential information about individuals associated with the University. There is the potential for great efficiency when the system is used appropriately as well as for harm when the system is used inappropriately or maliciously.

A signed Access and Compliance form on file is required prior to receiving access to U-M administrative data resources. The form is available in the training course DCE101 Access and Compliance - eLearning Course. This training course covers government regulations and university policies regarding data access and compliance.
