Reports: Human Resource Data Administration

The Information Services portion of HRRIS continues to be responsible for authorizing access to HR IMS transactions. Approval for access to the HRMS Data Warehouse should now go through your HR Unit Liaison. The approval process is based on a 'need to know' basis for staff in the University community to do their job more efficiently and effectively. Access to the HRMS OLTP and ODS environments will be limited, but can be processed through your HR Unit Liaison as well.

HRMS Data Warehouse

Provides access to both the Payroll and HR data for departmental users who have a need to access the data to do their jobs more efficiently and effectively.

The new Business Objects interface used to access this data set allows you to access this data in a point and click manner to develop your own reports and retrieve information you need to gather. There are also many predefined (canned) reports available through the Business Objects interface that allow you to gather certain information quickly and with little knowledge of the tool and/or system.

HR IMS transactions

HRRIS authorizes two HR IMS transaction packages for department liaisons use - LOOK and DPER.

LOOK & FINDNAME

LOOK gives you access to personnel and appointment information. Although you can view employees with this transaction, you can only view them one record at a time. This transaction is good for verifying information on a given staff member, but is not necessarily as good as the HR Data Access system for analyzing a whole department at once. The FINDNAME transaction gives you the capability of finding a person if you only have their name. To get access to these transactions, you need to have the Data Systems Center Access Administrator for your department complete the Request for System Access to Mainframe and Oracle-Based Data Form A.1 and send it to Information Services. At that time, an analyst from Information Services will contact you to verify need for authorization.
